"Jacket (Not) Required"

Anybody else tired of seeing slobs everywhere you go? I admit that stuffy people annoy me too and that I enjoyed Rodney Dangerfield's new rich character in Caddyshack. Nonetheless, I've seen enough skin in church, belly buttons in fine restaurants, tattoos on legs, T-shirts, flip-flops, and undersupported boobs in court to last a lifetime.

Visit a law school sometime and see how our future colleagues dress!

Tatoos are awful. I reveal my social reactionary side when I assert that while tattoos are distateful on men, including physically otherwise fit young men, they are inherently disfiguring on any woman. For the woman, it is not only a desecration of the natural beauty bestowed on all by the nature of birth but upon the female ideal. That ideal I suppose is either unknown and sneered at today. Too bad. The much denigrated by the PC Book of Leviticus specifically bans tatoos. Corrective plastic surgery for disfigurement is one thing. But deliberate disfigurement to me is self-worship. The opposite of the Love that you have recalled in your other article about your struggle to accomodate the death of your Mother.
